"Toi Maori Aotearoa and Aalto Colour present a palette reflecting the authentic colours used by Maori in early meeting houses, Kowhaiwhai and carvings."
Aalto Colour has created the Toi Maori palette from authentic colours used by Maori in their early meeting houses. The range was comissioned by Helen Kedgley curator at Pataka Museum to coincide with the opening of the exhibition, The Koru and Kowhaiwhai at Pataka.
In creating this palette, Aalto worked with:
Garry Micholas (General Manager, Toi Maori Aotearoa), Sandy Adsett (Artist and advisor), Darcy Micholas (General Manager, Cultural Services of Porirua Council), and Roger Neich of the Auckland Museum.
